We’ve a dedicated team of officers and committee members who run the local party and coordinate our activities – and there’s always room for more people to join us. We also have four hard-working West Devon Borough Councillors, representing the wards of South Tawton, Chagford, Okehampton South and Drewsteignton.
Your Local Councillors
Lynn Daniel. Elections Agent / West Devon Borough Councillor (South Tawton)
“I’ve been an elected West Devon Borough Councillor since 2019 and worked hard to represent the local community in South Tawton ward. I’ve helped change the direction of the council and introduced many more environmental policies. I am also a founder member of the steering group to save our local stores and post office.”
Steve Guthrie. West Devon Borough Councillor (Drewsteignton)
“I live on Dartmoor with my family and am a traditional Chinese acupuncturist, in general practice since 1986. I’ve also specialised in paediatrics. I’ve been a representative on a cross-party parliamentary complementary health committee and was a member of the British Acupuncture Council.”
Jane Elliot. West Devon Borough Councillor (Chagford)
“I’ve been a member of the Green Party since 2019 and work part-time researching and teaching in social science at the University of Exeter. As a Green Party Councillor, I am committed to listening to the concerns of local people, working collaboratively with the Chagford Parish Council and actively representing Chagford on the Borough Council.”
Malcolm Caldwell. West Devon Borough Councillor (Okehampton South)
“I’m a retired doctor who practised in Okehampton. Having lived and worked locally I understand the issues that affect people’s lives in the area and will always be available to support local people. I’m particularly concerned that climate change isn’t been seriously addressed by the other parties. We can’t wait any longer.”
Your Local Officers
Judy Maciejowska. Chair/Coordinator
“With the natural world in such a precarious situation the Green Party’s policies have never been more vital. We’re all affected by climate change and its impact on communities. We need to make better choices that enable us all to live fulfilled lives in harmony with each other and with nature. I am convinced that only the Green Party offers those choices”.
Brian Wood. Treasurer
“I’ve been a Party Member since 2015. A retired Chartered Chemist, I’m a keen environmentalist and support many organisations tackling poverty or climate change. A former County & Borough Councillor, Police and Fire Authority Member, I’m currently an Okehampton Hamlets Parish Councillor and have been a Trustee on eight different charities.”
Mark Foster. Communications Officer
“As a freelance copywriter for over 30 years I know how important it is to get the Green Party’s message across. And I believe it’s a message of hope – that’s it’s not to late to avert the climate crisis and to restore biodiversity. We have some of the country’s most incredible countryside in West Devon. Let’s make sure future generations can continue to enjoy it.”
Sara Wood. Secretary
” I was a member of the Green Party in Australia from the early 90s and signed up for the UK Greens as soon as I came back to the UK. I love being involved in team work for a cause that is so crucial to us all. I’m a great leafleter – and always look forward to getting stuck in when the time comes to spread the word.”
