West Devon Green Party are really pleased to announce our candidates for the 2021 Devon County Council Elections. This year, everyone in West Devon has the chance to vote Green - so make your voice heard for the things that matter to you. If you would like to view our manifesto for West Devon then you can download it here.

Our candidates are;

Lynn Daniel

Lynn Daniel, candidate for Hatherleigh and Chagford, lives in Sticklepath. Lynn is a councillor on West Devon Borough Council where she has introduced and supported initiatives to ensure West Devon has a future that is sustainable for all and for future generations. West Devon now has a carbon and biodiversity plan, and a Citizens forum to hold councillors to account for reaching our climate targets. Lynn is now planning to initiate safe routes for children to walk or cycle safely to school.

Lynn says:  ‘The pathway will link South Zeal, Sticklepath and Okehampton, via the new railway station. My vision is a network of linked shared paths across the county. I will be a strong advocate for this.’

Brian Wood

Brian Wood, candidate for Okehampton Rural, lives in Okehampton. He is a Chartered Chemist by profession, employed most recently as a senior manager in the NHS. Brian campaigns tirelessly for a fair and just society, both as Regional President for his trade union, and as a local councillor. He helped found the Okehampton Coronavirus Support Group, and continues to support people from a wide area in West Devon. Brian has served as governor of both primary and secondary schools, and was also the Chair of Trustees of an advocacy network, helping people with mental health issues.

Brian cares deeply about the countryside and understands the difficulties that agriculture and fisheries now face.

Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan, candidate for Tavistock, lives in North Tawton and works as a Nurse near Tavistock. A lifelong ecological campaigner, Chris has lived and worked in Devon for the last ten years and represented the Green Party in the Torridge and West Devon constituency in the last two parliamentary elections. He campaigns tirelessly on environmental, agricultural and social issues.

Judy Mac - Candidate for Yelverton Rural

Judy Maciejowska is the candidate for Yelverton Rural.  Judy moved to Bere Alston ten years ago where she has been creating a wildlife friendly smallholding. She is passionate about biodiversity and believes that if we are to protect species from the damage of climate change we must begin at home in Devon.  Judy also wants to see greatly improved transport links for local people, and will get behind the campaign to extend the proposed rail link from Okehampton through Tavistock and Bere Alston, reducing the reliance on expensive and polluting private transport.

Judy has been a member of the Green Party for more than three decades, and serves on several of the party’s national committees.

Everyone in West Devon has the chance to vote Green this year. Make your vote count!
